Found Poetry: "Fate's Calliope"

"...When Fate was done with his calliope calisthenics,
He traded his oilskin raincoat for a tuxedo,
Sat before a piano,
So serene and tame compared
To the rough beast of the calliope."

-Laurence Bergreen, from Louis Armstrong, An Extravagant Life
